Well done to all involved!

EVENT IS A SCORCHING HOT SUCCESS

The fourth Carl Fielder-Shaw Memorial Tournament in aid of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd was a complete success raising more money for the cause than ever before.

the cup The sun unexpectedly shone all day, and the football was of a great, competitive standard. The 16 teams were eventually whittled down to 2 and the final was a repeat of 2006 where Crime Prevention Services faced the green and white hooped 'Goats' (previously Sir Gawain). Following hard-fought goaless draw, it was the latter who emerged as the winners after a nerve-jangling penalty shootout. Pictures and report to follow.

The exact total raised is yet to be confirmed, although we're hopeful of a figure between £6,000 – £8,000. If you would like to make a contributution towards the cause, you can still make an online donation – we're grateful for every penny received.

Thanks to everyone who took part or contributed in some way, the generosity shown has been truly astounding. See you all in 2010.
Pete Fielder-Shaw.
